Peace4Kids makes various resources available to its youth. From connecting them with available transitioning housing services to helping them find vocational and employment training, Peace4Kids makes these important links for youth transitioning from foster care.

Some resources are developed by Peace4Kids in-house to meet very specific needs. Our Love ME Now Group is one example.

The Peace4Kids Love ME Now Group is for teenage young women in foster care, ages 12 to 17. The main focus of the group is to empower and build self esteem. The young women have stated a desire to build healthy relationships, learn forgiveness and self love, and enhance conflict resolution.

The Love ME Now Group works to build the character of our young women through Four Positively Self-ish Principles:

  • Self-Awareness
  • Self-Esteem
  • Self-Respect
  • Self-Worth

Through this support group, young women in foster care have the opportunity to meet regularly to share their experiences and become empowered to achieve their life pursuits. The dynamic that gets created with a group of youth getting together sharing, expressing and learning together – is one that generates a level of self acceptance that might not be available in their day to day lives. Understanding that they share commonalities with other youth helps them to create life long bonds and know they are not alone in a world that can feel very lonely.

The Love ME Now Group for teenage women in foster care is a 3 year/tier program:

Tier 1 – Healing & Self Discovery

Tier 2 – Education & Career Goals

Tier 3 – Giving Back & Advocacy

What our young women are saying: “The Love ME Now program is a learning experience for me. I’ve never really had a location to express my feelings. It makes me feel special and wanted to have people take time out of their day to help and inspire me to be a better person on life.”
